France: the PCF calls on Jean-Luc Mélenchon for the legislative elections

Four days after the first round of the presidential election, which again saw Jean-Luc Mélenchon fail by very little, the left is now turning to the legislative elections.
The communist candidate Fabien Roussel pleaded this Thursday, April 14 for a broad union in order to compete with Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen.
A bet far from won.

He hoped for better from the presidential election, but Fabien Roussel wants to quickly turn the page.
And the priority of priorities for the boss of the French Communist Party (PCF) are the legislative elections.
He recognizes it, he does not have all the cards in hand.
The keys are Jean-Luc Mélenchon who has them.
I wish we all added up.
This is the condition for the victory of the left, and for its reconstruction.
Bringing together People's Union, Communist Party, Socialist Party and Europe Ecology-The Greens, the ambition is great, especially at the end of a presidential campaign where the left was torn, and where only 400,000 were missing voice to Jean-Luc Mélenchon to reach the second round.
But that, Fabien Roussel refuses to bear the responsibility.
To say that we, with our 802,000 votes, were responsible when there are 12 million abstainers is inflated.
I could complain too, since I was siphoned off!
A position which should not facilitate the resumption of contact with Jean-Luc Mélenchon.
This one ignores for the moment the calls of the communist leader.
And it could last.
With his 22% in the first round, the boss of the People's Union knows he can obtain important concessions from his rivals on the left and has no interest in opening the door to negotiations too quickly.
I respect the Communists but Fabien Roussel did not keep his word.
He had told me that if a candidate from the left was able to be in the second round, he was ready to rethink his candidacy.
