It was a small mistake that cost Brian Donaciano Olguín, better known as "El Pitt", dearly during a trip to Colombia.

This drug trafficker was arrested last February by the police after his partner posted a selfie of the couple on Facebook, reports

Vice

.

This trip to Colombia by the drug trafficker, a probable member of the Sinaloa cartel, was intended to negotiate the price of a shipment of cocaine bound for Mexico and the United States.

But Brian Donaciano Olguín also took the opportunity to allow himself a getaway to Los Cristales, one of the attractions of the city of Cali, with his model companion.

A bribe offered to the police

Completely ignoring security protocols, including only using encrypted apps, the model convinced him to take a kissing selfie in front of Los Cristales mountain.

She immediately posted the photo on her Facebook account,” a member of the police unit tasked with Olguín's arrest told Colombian newspaper

El Tiempo

.

Thanks to this discrepancy, the Colombian police in collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Administration quickly managed to locate the drug trafficker wanted in 196 countries by Interpol for drug trafficking.

The man and his companion were in a residential area and he could be identified thanks to surveillance images before being arrested.

He was notified of his extradition order by the Southern District of California court.

Brian Donaciano Olguín then offered a bribe of approximately $265,000 in cash;

in vain.
