China Overseas Chinese Network, April 14. According to the US "Overseas Chinese News" report, a shooting at the 36th Street Subway Station, Fourth Avenue, Sunset Park, Brooklyn, New York, USA, on the 12th (Tuesday), during the morning rush hour, has caused a shooting case, including Chinese passengers and Chinese Americans. At least 29 people, including students, were injured, 10 of whom were shot.

According to police information, the shooting occurred at about 8:24 a.m. on the 12th, on an N-car subway bound for Manhattan.

The fire department was first called to reports of smoke coming out of the 36th Street subway station, and then paramedics arrived to find five people had been shot.

Since then, the number has expanded as various emergency responders rushed to the scene, and by the time of writing, at least 29 people had been injured in the shooting, 10 of whom had been shot.

After the incident, multiple live videos reposted on social media showed that when the N train arrived at the 36th Street Station, the train opened the door and smoke came out of the carriage, and people screamed and ran out of the carriage to escape.

Then the injured stumbled out of the carriage either on their own or with the help of others, and some fell directly or fell on the platform.

The video shows that many of the injured at the scene were Chinese passengers and students. Among them, a Chinese student was rescued by firefighters at the stairs of the platform, and another Chinese student was leaning on the iron pillar of the platform, soaked with blood. He removed his left trouser leg, and a non-ethnic man next to him was pressing his wound tightly.

It is reported that the victims of the shooting ranged in age from 17 to 50 years old. Miraculously, all the injured were not life-threatening.

According to the police, the gunman was wearing a green fluorescent construction vest and a gas mask when he committed the crime. He first took out a smoke bomb from his bag and opened it. Immediately, the car was filled with smoke, and then he opened fire. Several people were attacked on the platform.

Witnesses said he saw the gunman muttering to himself before the attack, at first thought it was a neuropathy, and then the gunman put on a gas mask and felt something was wrong.

After the shooting broke out, a large number of police, law enforcement officers, first responders, firefighters, and federal investigators quickly gathered at the scene and blocked off 20th Street to 40th Street from Third to Fifth Avenues around the crime scene.

The scene and the surrounding area were crowded with various law enforcement vehicles, and four helicopters were circling in the air.

After an in-depth investigation, police found shell casings, a pistol, three elongated round magazines and a bag full of smoke bombs and fireworks on the chaotic subway and platforms.

Police say a jammed pistol found at the scene is believed to have saved more lives.
