Biden: Yes, I am ready to visit Kyiv

US President Joe Biden has expressed his readiness to visit the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv.

"Yes, we're making that decision now," Biden said Thursday, at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland, before boarding Air Force One, in response to a reporter's question whether his administration intends to send a high-ranking official to Ukraine.

In response to a question about this official, Biden addressed the questioner with a counter-question: "Are you ready to go?"

The journalist responded to that by asking: "Are you ready?", Biden said: "Yes."

This is not the first time that Biden has expressed interest in such a visit, but the extent of his seriousness is not yet clear.

The US president refrained from visiting Kyiv during his last European tour in late March, which included especially neighboring Poland, where he met Ukrainian refugees.

"We are making this decision now", Biden said when he was asked if he would send a high-ranking official to Ukraine.

Asked who he will send, Biden asked the reporter, "Are you ready to go?"

"And you?"

the journalist asks.

"Yes," Biden replied.
