130,000 civilians are still isolated in Mariupol, southern Ukraine, where fierce battles are taking place every day.

The bodies of the dead have been left unattended in various places on the streets, but they are said to be disappearing recently.



Correspondent Kim Soo-hyung of Washington interviewed the deputy mayor of Mariupol to see what was going on.

Deputy Mayor Sergei Orlov Mariupol, who was interviewed for the third time with SBS, said 130,000 civilians were still unable to leave the city and were in extreme conditions.

civilian death toll alone is estimated at 15,000 to 22,000, he explained.



Many of the dead are left on the streets, he said, but their bodies have recently begun to disappear.

In order to cover up evidence of war crimes committed by the Russian military, the body may have been completely wiped out with a portable crematorium.

He stressed that 10 times more atrocities took place in Mariupol than in Bucha, where the massacre of civilians was alleged.

In particular, they were outraged that the Russian military used sexual assault as a weapon.

Although Russian forces currently control 70% of Mariupol, there is fierce resistance from Ukrainian forces, and there is concern that Russia may use chemical weapons.
