“Temporary rules for the fulfillment of obligations of Russian airlines and organizations to foreign companies will begin to operate in Russia,” the report says.

It is noted that the document determines the procedure for the execution in 2022 of contracts providing for the acquisition, rental, leasing of aviation equipment.

“If a foreign lessor company from an unfriendly country has a structural unit registered in Russia, payments will go to its account in a Russian bank in rubles,” the Cabinet added.

As specified, the calculations will be made at the official exchange rate of the Bank of Russia, set on the day the obligations are fulfilled.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree "On the temporary procedure for fulfilling financial obligations in the field of transport to certain foreign creditors."

The Russian leader also said that Western partners deceived Russian companies by stopping the supply, maintenance of aircraft and leasing agreements.

Russian Transport Minister Vitaly Savelyev said that Western lessors have requested the return of more than 500 aircraft from Russian airlines.

According to the Ministry of Transport, Russian airlines transferred almost 800 foreign aircraft that were on lease to the country's register.

At the same time, about 80 Russian aircraft were arrested abroad due to sanctions.

According to Savelyev, Moscow wants to negotiate with the Western owners of the liners on their redemption, but foreign partners have so far refused to dialogue.
