At the same time, opinions in the Japanese government regarding the prospects for such cooperation are divided, since some officials believe that it is necessary to join the alliance to oppose China, while others believe that at the moment, bilateral cooperation between Japan and each of the states of the association is enough.
Earlier, members of the US, UK and Australian defense partnership AUKUS announced cooperation in the development of hypersonic weapons and means of protection against them, as well as in strengthening cooperation in the cyber sphere.
