Visitors have flocked to the ski tracks in Ånnaboda this winter.

During the past season, Örebro ski alliance, which is responsible for the ski tracks, has sold over 7,100 track cards, of which 1,500 season tickets.

The rest are day passes.

This means an increase of over 3,000 cards sold compared to the previous season.

According to Lasse Lundberg, chairman of the Örebro Ski Alliance, there are several reasons for this year's record season.

- I think people are out more in nature now, as an effect of the pandemic and also there have been very good conditions up here.

And maybe even more visitors could have come here if there had been good snow conditions in Örebro as well.

Because it usually reflects itself.

More investment to look forward to

Most of the increased sales revenue goes to Örebro municipality, but the idea is that part of the profit will be reinvested in the facility, says Lasse Lundberg.

As SVT Örebro previously reported, there are plans to build a biathlon stadium in the area.

When that construction is completed, however, it is too early to say, first a decision must be made in the municipal council.

But those who want to practice biathlon in the area do not have to worry.

- We will be able to get a simpler variant in place as early as next winter, says Lasse Lundberg.
