The draft basic policy for the next 10 years for the promotion of Okinawa has been approved by the government council.

It clearly states that it will "realize a strong Okinawan economy," further enhancing the attractiveness of the tourism industry, and utilizing digital technology to create new industries.

According to the proposal approved by the government's Okinawa Promotion Council, the income per capita of Okinawa is still at the lowest level in the whole country, and there are still issues with the self-sustaining development due to the corona disaster. We will improve the productivity and "earning power" of businesses and realize a strong Okinawan economy. "

To this end, the company plans to further enhance the attractiveness of the tourism industry and strengthen its competitiveness, as well as create new industries through the utilization of digital technology and decarbonization.

In addition, in the northern part of the main island, employment will be created by developing special products and expanding sales channels, and ICT will be used to improve resident services to create an environment that encourages migration and settlement.

Furthermore, as a measure against child poverty, we are also working to support the operation of children's whereabouts and secure employment for parents.

The government plans to continue making adjustments based on this proposal and make a decision next month.
