“Russia's membership in the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency was suspended on April 11 following a decision by the governing body of the OECD.

Russia has been informed accordingly and the suspension will take effect on May 11,” the agency said in a press release.

In February, the OECD announced the termination of the process of Russia's accession to it.

The organization also announced the closure of an office in Moscow.

Earlier, Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said that Russia's actions in the framework of a special military operation in Ukraine do not pose a threat to nuclear security.
