Salah Abdeslam, the main defendant in the November 13 trial, said on Wednesday that he entered a café in Paris the evening of the attacks, armed with his explosive belt, and had "given up" to blow himself up.

"I'm going to walk into this cafe, I'm going to order a drink, I'm going to look at the people around me and I said to myself, 'No, I'm not going to do it,'" the only surviving member of the commandos said during the his last interrogation before the special assize court of Paris.
