In total, just over 350,000 visitors spent the night in the municipality.

An increase of over 13 percent compared to the year before, which also beats the previous record year 2019, which was also before the pandemic.

- We have tried to create a more continuous flow of visitors all year round.

Ten years ago it was a few weeks in the summer, but now it is from March to December, says Annika Borgelin.

Swedes' travel patterns

It is clear that the Swedes have changed their travel pattern as a result of the pandemic.

A trend that looks set to continue.

- Based on the booking situation at accommodation facilities and the various events, it is well booked, says Annika Borgelin.

But it certainly is not.

- You get to see what happens and how people's travelers look.

Many have not been abroad for several years and then maybe you want to travel abroad or you have discovered with the return home that Sweden is a country you want to continue traveling in.
