A 54-year-old woman was sentenced by the court in Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales) on Tuesday for intentional violence.

In June 2020, she stabbed a man twice after stabbing his car tires, reports The Independent.

She had acted under the influence of alcohol and under the influence of anger.

Illiterate and unemployed

That day, the defendant had gone to her ex-companion after consuming alcohol.

Seeing her disembark, he had asked her to leave because he was hosting a friend.

Not accepting being kicked out, she took revenge on the man by attacking his vehicle.

Then, when the stranger had tried to settle accounts with her, she had stabbed him, particularly in the stomach.

The victim received fifteen days of total incapacity for work.

The woman's lawyer tried to minimize the attack by recalling that the friend of the ex-companion was equipped with a corkscrew and that he was angry.

So she would have been scared.

In addition, he recalled the precarious situation of his client: illiterate and unemployed.

The woman was sentenced to 30 months in prison, six of which were suspended on probation.

She has an obligation to take care of herself and find a permanent home.
