The store is located west of Idre, right next to the national border, and is largely completely dependent on Norwegian customers who buy goods there that are significantly cheaper than in Norway.

When the border was kept closed during the pandemic, store owners were occasionally forced to stay closed.

But for the past two months, the border has been open and in most places, sales for cross-border traders are now as large as before the pandemic.

This also applies to Flötningen.

- Customers came back quite quickly, says Marie Lagerström.

Extra big sale for Easter

And now before Easter, extra large sales are expected as Easter is an important holiday in Norway.

- I live just a bit inside the border here and I notice now that there are many more cars here in the parking lot now, says customer Anders Tingstad from Dalsbygda in Norway.
