Several complaints have been filed by people who wanted to withdraw cash from the Crédit Agricole ATM in Nanteuil-le-Haudouin (Oise) this weekend.

The device had indeed been modified by scammers who had placed a metal bar fixed with adhesive tape in front of the hatch from which the money usually comes out, details Actu Oise.

A crook on the lookout

Thanks to this scheme, the tickets remained stuck and the user ended up leaving the premises.

The thief posted nearby then only had to come and collect the money.

A police investigation was initiated.

The military did not want to reveal more information about this scam.

However, they called on the population to be particularly careful when withdrawing money from an ATM.

The gendarmes in particular recommended caution when inserting the card into the device.

The mayor of Nanteuil-le-Haudouin for his part specified that this subterfuge had already been used in the past.
