A former general practitioner, previously working in Tréguier (Côtes-d'Armor), was tried on appeal this Friday in Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine).

At first instance, he had been sentenced to one year in prison and three years suspended for sexual assaults on eight patients, reports

A judgment rendered in June

A first complaint was filed in 2014 by a high school student, who accused the caregiver of having palpated her breasts several times and of having touched her private parts during a consultation.

With the media coverage of the case, other victims then came forward.

In total, eight patients educated in the same high school, where the man was a doctor, denounced similar facts.

The defendant continues to maintain his innocence.

The prosecutor, however, asked the court of appeal to confirm the initial judgment.

The judgment will be handed down next June.
