Two people lost their lives on Tuesday morning in the crash of a microlight.
The alert was given at 11:20 a.m.
According to the Ariège firefighters, around twenty rescuers converged on the scene of the accident, supported by a helicopter from the Saint-Girons gendarmerie.
The crash occurred in the town of Prat-Bonrepaux, about ten kilometers from Saint-Girons and about fifty kilometers west of Foix.
The Antichan aerodrome, well known to amateur pilots, is located a few kilometers from the site of the accident, but it is not yet known whether the aircraft which fell was going there or returning from it.
According to France 3 Occitanie, the air transport gendarmerie brigade was responsible for the investigation.
