As we reported alone yesterday (11th), the US nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln moved to the East Sea.

This aircraft carrier is over 300 meters long, and her flight deck is wider than two football fields combined.

It is evaluated that it surpasses the air power of any country as there are about 80 of them, including the latest stealth fighters, installed here.

It also carries a fleet of nuclear-powered submarines, Aegis destroyers and missile cruisers.

The fact that such a Lincoln carrier group came to the East Sea is interpreted as a strong warning message to North Korea, where there is an additional provocative movement.

Reporter Bae Jun-woo will tell you.

The 'Abraham Lincoln' carrier group entered the East Sea through the Korea Strait.

[Bu Seung-chan / Ministry of Defense Spokesperson: We are also aware that it is located on the high seas.

(It is a strategic asset of the United States) I would like to say that it is not appropriate for us to mention the details.] It is said that the

Lincoln Carrier Group will stay in the East Sea for about a week and conduct reconnaissance of major North Korean facilities and even an operation to collect electronic signals.

A high-ranking government source told SBS, "The Lincoln Carrier Group will remain in our military's operational zone until the day after tomorrow, and then continue training and operations on the high seas of the East Sea until at least the weekend."

U.S. carrier groups usually left immediately after conducting joint naval exercises, but staying for about a week is unusual.

Although the plan for joint naval training with the ROK Navy or the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force has not been finalized, there is a possibility that the training will be held at the last minute as the duration of stay of the carrier group is sufficient.

As of today, the crisis management staff training, which is the pre-training of the ROK-US combined exercise in the first half of the year, started, and the main training, the command post training, will continue from the 18th to the 28th.

During this period, important events from North Korea, such as the 110th anniversary of Kim Il-sung's birthday, are scheduled for one after another, so the South Korean and American authorities are closely monitoring the possibility of an armed provocation.

While the United States has even issued a warning letter of the carrier group pressure training, attention is focused on whether North Korea will launch a provocation or how far it will raise the level.
