One scenario has been called "Finnishisation"

where Ukraine would give up smaller parts of the country to Russia and declare itself neutral, as Finland did after the Finnish Winter War.

- I think that is a reasonable alternative, because it could also be presented as a victory (for Russia), says Lieutenant Colonel Joakim Paasikivi.

There has also been talk of a "Korean scenario"

where the country would be divided into a larger Russian part and a Ukrainian part, similar to North and South Korea.

- I believe that there is an opportunity for Ukraine to stop the Russians.

If it now happens that Ukraine has to cede land to Russia, it will probably only be a small part, says Russia expert Inga Näslund at the Palme Center.

In the video, you hear Näslund and Paasikivi reasoning about three possible endings to the war - and what speaks for and against the scenarios.
