She lived a normal life on the outskirts of Kyiv when the war broke out and worked as a saleswoman in a clothing store.

But the bombs and the war came closer and her mother's medication began to run out, recently operated on for cancer.

So therefore they fled and ended up in Skåne.

- I think of all the relatives and everyone I know who are left, says Olena Hordiievska.

May meet curator

Her husband remains and the daughter who did not want to leave her husband.

Thoughts gnaw and the stress has made her now apply to the health center in Ängelholm.

Here she meets a curator.

- I can not sleep and try to sing a little but it does not help, she tells the curator.

Skåne provides Ukrainians with the same care as asylum seekers

Both she and her mother have registered with the Swedish Migration Agency and are covered by the Mass Refugee Directive, which gives them the right to care and dental care that cannot be delayed.

In Skåne, the region has decided to also provide the same opportunity for Ukrainians who are here visa-free for 90 days.

Children under the age of 18 have the same right as Swedish children.

- Care that can not be postponed is a very broad concept and means that you need care urgently or immediately.

Or if there is something in your medical history that can have serious consequences if you wait with care, says Christel Nilsson, operations manager at Capio's health center in Ängelholm.

Get a return visit

The conversation with the curator lasts a good while and a new visit is booked.

The mother has been given an appointment with a oncologist.

- I feel a little better but I understand that I have to work a little with myself as well, says Olena Hordiievska.
