Premises, books and teachers - it must be arranged before the children can be received.

The biggest challenge is to find teachers in a short time at a time when there is already a shortage of teachers.

According to principal Roger Pettersson, the school is focusing on retired teachers right now.

- Especially recently retired teachers who know the job but who are also willing to take on the challenge, he says.

Exactly how many children will start depends on how many want to start in the Swedish school.

Roger Pettersson says that there may be those who prefer to go to the Ukrainian school at a distance.

- The children are between 1 and 18 years old, now we are also at the end of the semester, so maybe some reason that it is just as good to end the Ukrainian semester, he says.

Learned a lot from the war in 2015

Receiving children who have come from a war-torn country is nothing new for Bergaskolan.

According to school principal Bodil Gustafsson, both the management and the school staff have learned great lessons from 2015 when the school received children who fled the war in Syria.

- You notice that it is not as stressful a situation this time.

We know what to expect, says Bodil Gustafsson.

The same room where the Syrian refugees were taught will be refurbished once again for the Ukrainian refugee children.

Hear him talk about the preparation in the clip above.
