“We reached a certain level of agreements in Istanbul, which consisted in the fact that security guarantees for Ukraine, and the Ukrainian side pronounces very strict security guarantees for itself, will not apply to the territory of Crimea, Sevastopol and Donbass,” he said after negotiations with the Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko.

Putin added that the Russian side continued to create conditions for the continuation of negotiations with Kiev.

“Instead, we faced a provocation in Bucha, and, most importantly, the Ukrainian side moved away from its agreements in Istanbul,” the Russian leader said.

According to him, now the Kyiv regime has said that security requirements are one thing, and the issues of regulating relations over Crimea, Sevastopol and Donbass are taken out of the scope of these agreements.

“That is, we have again returned to a dead end situation for ourselves and for all of us,” Putin summed up.

The Russian leader also commented on the timing of the completion of the special operation in Ukraine.

He clarified that Russia's task is to "achieve all the goals set" while minimizing losses.
