Al-Jazeera correspondent in Lebanon said that one person was killed and 7 others were injured in an explosion in the town of Benafoul in the Sidon district in southern Lebanon, noting that the explosion damaged a building belonging to the municipal council and another adjacent to it.
The reporter, Ihab Al-Aqdi, added that ambulances rushed to the scene of the explosion in Sidon, and that the security and military services began investigations to find out the nature and causes of the explosion.
For its part, Reuters news agency quoted a security source as saying that at least one person was killed and 3 others wounded in an explosion near a scout center belonging to the Amal Movement allied with Hezbollah near Sidon in southern Lebanon.
