In the fourth most populous country in the world, students and activists demonstrated to protest against rising prices and a possible postponement of the next elections, mentioned by leading politicians in recent weeks.
In several cities, clashes between police and demonstrators have already caused several serious injuries.

It is a month of Ramadan which remains very hectic in Indonesia.
In a gloomy economic context with rising fuel and certain food prices, the possibility of an extension of the mandate of the current president
Joko Widodo
has thrown students and activists into the streets, in Jakarta, on the island Celebes or in the west of the island of Java.
Last week, two ministers publicly supported the idea of a postponement of the next elections, supposed to take place in 2024, and the efforts of the president himself to silence this hypothesis were not enough to reassure part of the president.
A president under fire from critics
Re-elected for a second term in 2019, Joko Widodo has since come under fire several times, notably with the very liberal and controversial

, supposed to attract foreign investors, or with his pharaonic project to
move the capital from Indonesia
