Disneyland Paris is celebrating its 30th anniversary.

Since its establishment, the amusement park has literally changed the territory.

Hotels, TGV station and residential housing estates have eaten away at agricultural land.

An expansion that continues to worry farmers and local residents.

REPORT

The Disneyland Paris amusement park is celebrating its 30th birthday.

In thirty years, it has created more than 50,000 jobs and employs 15,000 people each year.

Thus, the place of leisure has become the largest employer in Seine-et-Marne.

However, behind the magic of Disneyland dozens of farms have disappeared.

The massive urbanization of the territory is a fear for those who remain.

From the small wet dirt road adjoining her beet field, Charline Corman, a farmer in Jossigny, gazes into the distance at Disneyland Paris.

Thanks to the amusement park and the construction of surrounding residences for thirty years, the farmer has multiplied her turnover by five in twenty years.

However, Charline Corman knows it.

Of its 200 hectares, 20 belong to the State and can be bought by Disney.

Moreover, these hectares of land will soon be able to accommodate anything other than corn cobs.

"They will be built for infrastructure housing such as colleges, high schools or swimming pools. Of course, they will leave for the needs of the population," she explains.

“Stop or control urban settlement”

In the old farmhouse, potatoes, flour and eggs litter the stalls.

Here, only fresh products are sold directly on the farm.

Products highly prized by consumers like Kévin.

A shopping bag in each hand, the thirty-year-old regrets the nibbling of agricultural land.

"It's becoming incomprehensible to see Bussy-Saint-Georges coming towards us, to see so much construction! I think we have to go back to the origins, to our cultures, to our farmers, to our fields", harangues the racing enthusiast walk.

For him: "it is necessary to stop or control a minimum the urban installation".

However, Disneyland continues to expand with its latest development project of 35 hectares.

In addition, three new additional residential areas should emerge from the ground by 2028 in the territory.
