At midnight on Tuesday night, the police were alerted to a jetty in Gryt - that after a person received an alarm from his boat engine.

Several patrols went to the scene and when the police arrived at the pier, the boat was gone and the ropes to the mooring were hijacked.

A reconnaissance work was started and a man in his 20s was arrested by the police.

The man was found by a police dog after he hid in the reeds.

Shortly afterwards, a man in his 35s could be arrested in a car nearby.

According to the police, both arrested are suspected of aggravated theft.

The police suspect that at least five boats have been subjected to theft or attempted theft.

The police suspect that more people may be involved in the thefts and would like to receive tips from people who may have made observations.
