A woman living in eastern Ukraine, where Russia's military invasion continues, relied on her uncle to evacuate to Okinawa Prefecture, and arrived at Naha Airport on the 10th.

This is the first time that Okinawa Prefecture has accepted people who have evacuated from Ukraine, and Okinawa Prefecture has decided to provide prefectural housing free of charge.

Diana Medvidova, 30, evacuated from Luhansk Oblast in eastern Ukraine, arrived at Naha Airport from Narita Airport, a stopover, on the evening of the 10th.

At the airport, I was welcomed by my uncle Maicola Medvidov, my uncle's children, and supporters who work as technicians at OIST = Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University.

Diana left for Russia late last month because the village she lived in was occupied by Russian troops, and she evacuated to Japan with a visa from the Japanese embassy in Moscow.

Diana said, "I was very worried if I could get there, but I am very happy to arrive safely. I am very worried that there are many relatives and friends left over there. I want to believe it. "

According to Okinawa Prefecture, it is the first time to accept people who have evacuated from Ukraine in the prefecture, so in the future, we will provide prefectural housing free of charge as a residence, interview the person and consider more specific support measures. I want to come.
