A total of 20 scholarships of SEK 150,000 will be awarded to researchers for short stays of five months at Uppsala University.

- We have worked with this type of scholarship before for at-risk researchers.

We want to give the Ukrainian researchers a longer and more stable foundation to stand on and do so that they can continue with their research, says Tora Holmberg, Vice-Rector for Humanities and Social Sciences at Uppsala University.

The scholarship is awarded to researchers covered by the Mass Refugee Directive, which provides temporary protection in the EU Member States for Ukrainian citizens expelled from Ukraine from 24 February 2022. Other requirements are that they have a doctoral degree and that an institution at Uppsala University can receive the researcher.
