Good evening,

the Hessian police do not come to rest.

Two cases are currently occupying the public prosecutor's office.

In connection with reports of alleged right-wing extremist content in a chat by police officers at the police headquarters in southern Hesse, the Darmstadt public prosecutor's office has now announced the background to the investigation.

The focus is on six police officers between the ages of 34 and 48.

They are accused of, among other things, insult and defamation.

Three officers had filed a complaint against their colleagues because they had tried to "bully them away".

For this purpose, among other things, a separate chat group was founded.

During the investigation, among other things, an invitation to a celebration in the “Wolfsschanze” appeared in the course of the chat.

The incidents are said to have happened between August 25, 2019 and August 22, 2019.

March 2020 while on duty in the police station.

According to the police headquarters in southern Hesse, disciplinary proceedings have been initiated.

It is not yet clear whether the Darmstadt public prosecutor's office will file charges because of the right-wing extremist content in the chat.

It is necessary to clarify whether, for example, the offense of incitement to hatred was fulfilled.

Another case, another investigative authority.

Three years after the public prosecutor's office in Frankfurt began its investigation, it decided to bring charges against five police officers from the first district in Frankfurt.

The list of allegations is long.

The public prosecutor's office is convinced that the police officers shared and disseminated inflammatory content in the Whatsapp group "Itiotentreff" they founded.

The officials are therefore charged with hate speech, using symbols of unconstitutional organizations, depicting violence, insulting religious or ideological beliefs and possessions, and distributing pornographic writings.

The case is attracting so much attention because members of the group remain suspects

How do you actually notice in Frankfurt that the new semester has started again?

Right.

On the drive home, a young guy throws up right in front of your bike. Don't you think so?

But that's exactly what happened.

In the parks and on the Main, the freshmen meet again for fun introductory games.

And despite this unsavory encounter, there is something like sympathy.

After all, many felt sorry for the students during the two years of the pandemic.

For the fact that they hardly had the opportunity to take part in real university life.

Or for the fact that for many, studying meant turning on the computer and working through the material.

No discussions with fellow students and lecturers, no learning environment that can inspire.

At the start of the semester and after two years of the pandemic, students are allowed to return in large numbers to the state’s universities.

The only condition at the state universities in Hesse: Mask on.

At least in most cases.

The state universities either prescribe the masks or at least strongly recommend their use - the latter does, for example, the Goethe University.

In February, the university presidiums and Science Minister Angela Dorn decided that face-to-face teaching should be the norm again in the summer semester.

The students are happy.

But some are already missing the digital offer.

Because they have also become accustomed to the advantages of digital teaching: Fast forward when things get boring, press pause when you lose concentration, look back at what has been said if you don’t understand it.
