- To maintain anonymity, I can not go to individual schools or municipalities, but the results of the study is a pattern that we see throughout Sweden, says Jonas Larsson Taghizadeh, researcher in political science at Uppsala University who is behind the study.

Daniel Eskilson, deputy director of the education administration in Uppsala municipality, highlights the central admission system as an important factor for school choice in Uppsala, but takes the results of the study seriously.

- The study shows something that is sad and regrettable in every way.

If it is as the study shows, it is serious and a structural error.

It was outrageous to read the study and all guardians should be treated equally.

It goes against what the school choice is about - it should be open, transparent and equal for everyone, says Daniel Eskilson.

Have you noticed this in Uppsala municipality?

- Not that I know of.

I can only speak for the municipal schools, but I have not heard of guardians being treated in different ways.

We have gathered everything in one central admission and it is a good way to get away from such problems.

Then schools can not decide for themselves whether they can accept students or not, but everything goes through the central admission system.

Many people find the system difficult to use, how do you view it?

- We have a new system for a year now that has made it easier, but there are always things that can be developed and improved.

This is something we are constantly looking at and want to improve.
