Courts Jordi Pujol's defense brief before the National High Court: "I had money in Andorra because of the political risk I assumed"
Justice Some hooded men stole material seized by the Police from the Pujols at gunpoint
The Mossos d'Esquadra have denounced
Pere Pujol Ferrusola
, son of former Catalan president Jordi Pujol, for
reckless driving and disobedience
after a car he owned jumped several red lights last Saturday morning and fled against the direction of the patrol who gave him the high.
The events occurred around
three in the morning last Saturday
when a Mossos patrol stopped a vehicle that skipped a red light while driving along the
Rambla in Barcelona.
Despite the fact that the Mossos stopped the car, its driver
ignored
it and
fled, driving in the opposite direction
and also skipping a red light.
The Mossos lost sight of the vehicle, so they could not identify the driver, although they wrote down the
car's license plate.
Once they have verified that the vehicle belongs to Pere Pujol Ferrusola -although it has not been possible to determine if it was he who was driving it- they have criminally denounced him for a
crime of disobedience
, for ignoring the police order to stop.
At the same time, fines have also been imposed
for traffic violations
, for reckless driving.
Like his father and his six brothers, Pere Pujol Ferrusola
is awaiting trial for illicit association and money laundering
in the case opened for the fortune that the family of the former president of the Generalitat hid for years abroad.
In the case of Pere Pujol, the Prosecutor's Office requests a sentence of
eight years in prison for
him .
