She had a one in three million chance of hitting the jackpot, and it happened thanks to… a stampede.

This is the crazy story experienced by LaQuedra Edwards, a resident of California (United States), last November, reports

The Washington Post

.

The woman was in front of a scratch ticket vending machine in a business in Tarzana, a district of Los Angeles.

She intended to buy a $40 ticket but eventually pressed another button after being pushed around by a "rude" person.

A $30 ticket came out of the machine.

A bad $10 million ticket

So LaQuedra Edwards came back to her car and started scratching that ticket she hadn't chosen.

She then discovered that she had won $10 million.

Unbelieving, she didn't take her eyes off the winning ticket as she drove.

“I stopped, watched it over and over, scanned it with my app.

I kept thinking that couldn't be true,” she said.

An unlikely anecdote reminiscent of another American who had discovered that she had won 3 million euros by discovering an email in her spam.
