Russia destroys "Europe's gift" to Ukraine.. "S-300" system did not survive

The Russian Defense announced that it had destroyed equipment for the "S-300" anti-aircraft system that was delivered to Kiev from Europe and was hidden in a hangar on the outskirts of the city of Dnipropetrovsk.

According to a number of news websites, the Russian defense spokesman stated that the Russian missile strike destroyed 4 launchers of the S-300 system, killing up to 25 members of the Ukrainian forces.

Slovakia had confirmed that it had transferred the "S-300" air defense system to Ukraine, and said that the missile system was already there and that it had been transferred in complete secrecy during the previous two days.

Slovak Defense Minister Jaroslav Nagy announced that his country will receive 4 Patriot batteries from NATO, to replace the S-300 battery that Bratislava sent to Ukraine.

A senior Pentagon official said that the United States has no evidence to confirm that the Russian army destroyed the S-300 missiles that Slovakia sent to Ukraine recently.

He said: "We saw an air strike yesterday on the Dnieper International Airport and we believe that part of its infrastructure was destroyed, but we have no evidence that they destroyed the S-300 system, and we have no evidence if this system is Slovak."
