Rahma Al-Shehhi: Facing challenges begins with self-belief and “striving is the key to opportunities”

Emirati entrepreneur Rahma Al Shehhi obtained a master’s degree in business administration from the American University of Sharjah and worked in the government sector for seven years before dedicating herself completely to her freelance work and becoming a certified life coach and entrepreneur running two home projects in addition to her primary role as a housewife and mother for two girls.

Rahma faced many challenges that refined her character and gained her strength and courage in making decisions related to her professional life before she took her first steps in quitting work. Something about preparing food, and that is why I established two projects in the field of food preparation. I also found the passion to leave a positive impact on the lives of others, and that is why I became a life coach.”

Giving up a successful job was not easy for Rahma, who faced many challenges and fears, especially in light of the prevailing beliefs in society related to permanent work in institutions as a stable source of income, as it was one of the most difficult stages she went through, but her complete belief in her passion and proper planning is what He pushed her to risk her fixed-income job and go into self-employment, and she says that "her staying in the job and postponing this decision made her miss many opportunities that might contribute to the success of her project."

Rahma summarizes the steps of success in three main points, the first of which is self-belief and ambition, secondly the study of the situation and planning, and thirdly, the risk in facing challenges, which is the most important.

Rahma believes that taking risks in the face of challenges may open a door to success or teach you a new lesson, which will push you to develop yourself and make better plans.

Therefore, Rahma believes in the saying of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, "The greatest risk is not to take a risk."

And had it not been for that saying, Rahma would not have complete freedom to manage her time, and she would not have reaped its material and moral fruits.

Rahma recommends young people who are going through such difficulties to plan, persevere, and search for passion.
