Kuwait: Referring 18 officers of the Ministry of the Interior to the Public Prosecution

New details revealed in the case of violations of the General Administration of Coast Guard in Kuwait, which was raised by "Al-Qabas" newspaper in its issue issued last Tuesday. The Kuwaiti newspaper, "Al-Qabas", quoted informed sources as referring 18 officers in the Ministry of Interior to the Public Prosecution on charges of committing violations that led to wasting money. general.

The sources said that the referral came after an investigation committee formed by the former Minister of Interior Sheikh Thamer Al-Ali, last May, submitted a report that included accusations of forgery and manipulation against these officers, including prominent security leaders, including an assistant undersecretary, and directors of departments.

The sources added that the report revealed suspicions of fraud in the contracts of the radar system, which turned out to be dilapidated, and made the coast guard force in the country the weakest among the countries in the region.

The sources indicated that the committee based some of its findings on the report of the Audit Bureau 2020-2021, which alerted to the existence of differences in the settlement of maintenance contracts for the radar system, which led to the discovery of a shortage of used maintenance parts.

In its report, the “Accounting” indicated that about 11 million dinars were wasted on buying interceptor boats that were not taken advantage of, in violation of contractual terms, which caused security breaches and repeated incidents of infiltration into our territorial waters.

Documents, which Al-Qabas newspaper said, revealed suspicions of manipulation in the committees and teams previously formed to receive and install the parts of the radar system, through an “inventory settlement to prove the presence of the aforementioned pieces,” while proving the presence of the pieces contradicts reason, logic and the nature of engineering jurisdiction, due to the impossibility of ascending the technical supply team. For towers and inspection of parts at high altitude except with the presence of special equipment, as well as the absence of cutting data, which means manipulation of previous reports that claimed their existence!

The sources revealed that two of the persons referred to the Public Prosecution Office found, upon handing over their orders to the Ministry, that they were using 14 cars.
