Following the Fukushima accident in 2011 in Japan, new international guidelines were developed for emergency preparedness around nuclear power plants.

Therefore, the contingency zone will be expanded from 1 July 2022 from 25,000 inhabitants to 127,000 in the cities of Varberg and Kungsbacka in the new contingency zone.

The expanded contingency zone will, through various measures, reduce the impact on the population in the event of a nuclear accident.

In the clip, Daniel Csaki from the County Administrative Board in Halland explains what more measures the residents will notice.
