“Let's have no illusions: if you stop importing gas and oil today, then in the coming weeks this will not stop the Russian army,” Borrell was quoted by TASS.

According to him, the EU foreign ministers discussed the possibility of imposing a ban on the import of Russian oil, but "no decisions were taken."

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the United States is trying to occupy part of the European energy market, using the political situation in the region created by the Americans themselves.

Moscow recalled that the United States is not even able to partially cover the volume of energy supplies that Russia provides to the EU countries.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has warned that the West faces "hard times" ahead of weaning off Russian oil and gas.
