Representative Lee Tae-gyu of the People's Party, who is considered to be the closest aide to Ahn Cheol-soo, chairman of the transition committee, has announced that he will resign from his position as a transition committee member.

Chairman Ahn said that he had heard of his resignation in advance and that he would summarize his position today (12th).

Representative Lee Tae-gyu of the People's Party said yesterday afternoon that he would suddenly "resign from his position as a transition committee member for the presidency."

He continued, "There are several ministries' stances, but there is no stance at all."

Rep. Lee, who is called the closest aide to Ahn Cheol-soo's transition chairperson, was in charge of the negotiation behind the scenes in the process of unification of Candidates Yoon Seok-yeol and Ahn Cheol-soo.

After his election, he joined as a member of the Planning and Coordination Subcommittee of the Transition Committee, and his position as the Minister of Public Administration and Security in the new government was strongly discussed.

Rep. Lee met with SBS reporter on the 8th and said, "I will do it if I have the will and can afford it." When asked if the Minister of Public Administration and Security has the will, he also answered "yes".

In this situation, it seems that a conflict has arisen as no members of Chairman Ahn's side are included in the first list of cabinet appointments.

The key is whether Rep. Lee had previously consulted with Chairman Ahn before the announcement of his resignation.

[Ahn Cheol-soo/Acquisition Chairman: I heard the story in advance.

I will tell you about tomorrow (the 12th).

It is also known that the unity process between the People's Power and the People's Party, which was due to be scheduled, has been postponed, and depending on the wave, there is even a prospect that the formation of a 'joint government' agreed by President-elect Yoon and Chairman Ahn may turn on a red flag.
