Ukrainian President Zelensky gave a video address to the Korean National Assembly wearing a shaggy beard and a military T-shirt.

It started with the terrible reality of Ukraine.

[Volodimir Zelensky / President of Ukraine: The Russian army has attacked universities, train stations, airports, etc., not military facilities.

More than 900 educational institutions were destroyed, and many hospitals were also destroyed.]

He also emphasized that Russia's ultimate goal is not merely to seize territory.

[Volodimir Zelensky/President of Ukraine: The first thing Russia finds in the occupied Ukraine region are national activists, Ukrainian historians, and teachers of Ukrainian language.

We find and slaughter these people first.]

Then, they officially requested military support, saying that they need more help to win the war with Russia.

[Volodimir Zelensky / President of Ukraine: Ukraine needs various military technologies such as airplanes and tanks.

Korea can help Ukraine.] The Korean

government has provided non-lethal military supplies such as bulletproof helmets and blankets and medical supplies, but has limited support for lethal weapons.

At the end of the speech, President Zelensky played a video of the scene of Mariupol in southern Ukraine, where Russia's general offensive continued, showing desperate figures such as a child receiving CPR and a woman crying.

The simultaneous interpreter even cried.

[Simultaneous interpretation of Ukrainian President Zelensky: This is what Russia did.

We ask that you all help us and support us.]

After the 15-minute speech, the lawmakers of the ruling and opposition parties responded with much applause.
