Saturday evening, two young people were arrested as part of the investigation opened after the discovery of the body of a man shot dead in Ronchin, in the North, on the night of Monday to Tuesday, we learned from the Lille prosecutor's office.

They were remanded in custody.

"Two young men aged 16 and 18 were arrested, placed in police custody and brought to the prosecution", announced on Saturday evening, the services of the Lille prosecutor.

"A judicial investigation has been opened on the counts of assassination and complicity in assassination," added this source.

A premeditated act

These two arrests took place within the framework of the investigation opened on Tuesday, after the discovery of the body of a man in his twenties in his car parked in the town of Ronchin, near Lille, in the North.

Firefighters said the victim had three bullet holes.

"Several gunshot wounds were found that could likely be the cause of death," said the prosecution.

The investigations quickly made it possible to determine that the victim, aged 20, was from Seine Saint-Denis but that she lived in Lille.

The reasons for the murder were not specified, but the qualification of assassination retained by the examining magistrate infers that the act was premeditated.
