Chen Jingsong and his son from Taiwan are optimistic about the "hot spot for investment" in the mainland to start businesses one after another.

The business of the father and son continues to grow with the rapid development of the mainland economy, and with the advantage of Guangxi's proximity to ASEAN by land and sea, the products are sold well in ASEAN countries.

In Luzhai County, Liuzhou City, Guangxi, a metal foundry factory covering an area of 76 acres continues the dream of Taiwanese businessman Chen Jingsong and his "post-80s" son Chen Yingzhi.

At the end of the last century, the door to cross-strait exchanges was opened, and Chen Jingsong also came to the mainland to "chasing dreams".

In 1995, he came to Liuzhou for development after seeing the investment promotion policy of Guangxi Taiwan Affairs Office.

"Liuzhou is a heavy industry city in Guangxi. We started in Taiwan as a foundry industry, and we are optimistic about Liuzhou's industrial advantages to develop here." Chen Jingsong said in an interview a few days ago.

At that time, Chen Jingsong was assisted by relevant personnel of Liuzhou Taiwan Office and China Merchants Bureau to set up Liuzhou Qiaozong Metal Products Co., Ltd. in an industrial zone in Liuzhou.

"At the beginning, the staff of Liuzhou Municipal Government patiently interpreted the policy, which enabled us to successfully complete the construction of the factory, and helped to assist in the recruitment of workers, so that the factory could enter the production stage smoothly." Chen Jingsong said.

Initially, Liuzhou Qiaozong Metal Products Co., Ltd. only produced more than 200 kinds of hardware products, and the annual income was less than 1 million yuan (RMB, the same below).

Entering the 21st century, with the rapid development of the mainland economy, Chen Jingsong's career has also continued to grow.

In 2004, Chen Jingsong changed the name of the company to Fucheng Hardware Factory, and came up with the idea of letting his son go to the mainland to develop together.

"Young people should have a broad vision. It is a trend to develop in the mainland. If you come to the mainland to start a business, you can learn faster." Chen Jingsong said.

24-year-old Chen Yingzhi came to the mainland with the encouragement of her father.

He still remembers: "When I first arrived at the Liuzhou factory, it was still a field. When I went from the factory to the city center to see McDonald's, I felt a little excited."

Today, the careers of Chen Jingsong and his son, who are "chasing dreams" in the mainland, are booming along with the mainland market.

"Over the past ten years, the development of the mainland has been impressive." Chen Yingzhi sighed.

Liuzhou's infrastructure construction is becoming more and more perfect, and business in the mainland is also taking advantage of the momentum of rapid economic development, and continues to move forward.

"At present, our annual output value is 50 million yuan, 50 times more than in the past."

In Chen Yingzhi's view, Taiwanese investment in the mainland is inseparable from the mainland's business environment.

"In recent years, the business environment in mainland China has been getting better and better, and government departments are enthusiastically serving Taiwanese enterprises and doing their best to solve problems and difficulties for enterprises." Chen Yingzhi said.

What impressed Chen Yingzhi the most was the outbreak of the new crown epidemic in 2020, and the shutdown of enterprises in various places.

"At that time, we had many orders from foreign customers. With the support and assistance of the Taiwan Affairs Office of Liuzhou City and relevant government departments, we strived to resume work as soon as possible and reduce the loss of the enterprise." Chen Yingzhi believes that Guangxi's epidemic prevention and control measures are in place. The factory has not been affected by the epidemic for more than two years.

Optimistic about the geographical advantages of Guangxi, Chen Yingzhi hopes to further expand the ASEAN market.

He said: "Before, we have also participated in the China-ASEAN Expo to get in touch with Southeast Asian customers and further expand the Southeast Asian market." At present, Fucheng Hardware Factory mainly produces luggage, pets, household hardware and other accessories, as well as a small number of automobiles Accessories.

Most of the products are exported to Europe, the United States, Japan, and Southeast Asia, with an annual export volume of about 35 million yuan.

The story of Chen's father and son is the epitome of many Taiwanese businessmen in this "hot investment land" in Guangxi.

In order to allow Taiwanese businessmen to "share" development opportunities, in recent years, Guangxi has issued 80 and 30 policies and measures to benefit Taiwan and the people in accordance with a series of policies and measures issued by relevant Chinese authorities in recent years. Among the 14 cities with districts, 10 The introduction of supporting measures.

Today, in addition to the "second generation of Taiwanese businessmen", Chen Yingzhi also labels himself "Liuzhou Aberdeen".

"From my 20s to my 40s, I spent half of my life in Liuzhou. Now I plan to pay the housing provident fund and buy a house and settle down in Liuzhou." (End)
