Turnout stood at 65% at 5 p.m., down 4.4 points compared to 2017 (69.42%), according to figures from the Ministry of the Interior.
However, this turnout is 6.5 points higher than in 2002 (58.45%), a record year for abstention in the first round of a presidential election.
