The project "Hotel Courage" is a collaboration between the police, social services and hotels in Piteå to help overcome prostitution and violent crime in the municipality.

It is about taking a stand and at the same time urging hotel guests and staff to act when you suspect that not everything is right.

- The hotels can take responsibility for their arenas and they can be confident that we are there when they need support and help from us at the social services, says Sofie Isaksson.

"Prostitution is also a type of violence"

The social services and the police work to prevent, deter and stop violence in close relationships and prostitution.

- We do this to increase knowledge and prostitution is also a type of violence, says Sofie Isaksson.

Want to lead by example

She hopes that the Social Services can lead by example.

- We want to show that everyone can contribute by paying attention to this.

But also arouse people's thoughts about what you can do yourself if you see or hear something, says Sofie Isaksson.

"Need to get us more backbone"

Kristofer Lundström runs several hotels, including at Pite havsbad.

In the clip below, you hear his thoughts on the new collaboration and that he calls for more backbone and drive when you see that something is not right.
