Tatiana Garkusha, 26, who fled to neighboring Poland from Bucha near Kieu, the capital of Ukraine, where many residents were killed, responded to an interview with NHK on the 7th.

At the end of February, two days after the Russian troops invaded Ukraine, Garkusha felt in danger and evacuated with his family by car.

Looking back on the situation when she evacuated, Mr. Garkusha said, "While moving, I saw a car running backwards on the road while burning from the front. It seems that the people on board are not alive and it is not possible to save them. We couldn't do it. We moved while praying that we could evacuate safely so that we wouldn't have the same eyes. " Says.

And about the situation of Bucha, I heard from the residents who remained in the area, "The residents were hiding in the shelter for a long time, so many people died on the spot because there was no food or water. Also, the bodies of the dead people. Some residents were killed when they were lifted to bury their bodies, partly because they were bombed. "

Also, as a story of an acquaintance who remained in the field, Mr. Garkusha said, "When he was hiding in the fence and watching the city, I witnessed the inhabitants being shot and killed by tanks in front of me. People were killed for no reason, even though they were just walking down the road. "

"There were cases where Russian soldiers shot and killed their parents in front of them. They said,'If you accept the Russian claim, you won't take your life.'" How do we live from now on? The actions of Russian soldiers do not seem to belong to humans, they are like beasts. They only seem to despise human life. " He was angry at the atrocities of Russian soldiers.

"Most of the buildings were destroyed and everything was robbed by the Russian army," Garkusha said of his hometown of Bucha. There are still mines in the park where children play, and they can't walk. It's a beautiful city. However, it was erased from the earth by the Russian army, and all my dreams had disappeared. "

He added, "I am grateful that many people are worried about the country and city where I was born. I would like to ask people from developed countries to help me rebuild the destroyed city." He appealed for the need for further support for the reconstruction of the country.
