Andrei Nebitov, director of the police of Kyiv region, Ukraine, said Saturday that 40 bodies of civilians were discovered in a mass grave in the city of Bucha, amid Ukrainian intelligence announcing that the Russian army is regrouping its forces in the east of the country, while Moscow confirmed the destruction of a radar station and military sites.

He added, in a press statement, that the Kyiv region police examined, on Friday, a cemetery, which is one of the largest mass graves of civilians killed by Russian forces.

He stated that the 40 bodies discovered in the mass grave belonged to civilians who did not show any resistance, and pointed out that "the Russian forces systematically fired on civilians in Bucha."

He explained that some of the victims were killed by heavy weapons fire, and mentioned that there were men and women between the ages of 40 and 60 years among the civilians killed by the Russian forces.

He stated that according to preliminary examinations by forensic experts, there were bullet wounds in the head and body areas of many of the bodies, "which indicates that many civilians were killed by automatic weapons or sniper rifles."

And last Saturday, the Ukrainian army published pictures of corpses scattered on the sidewalks of the streets of Bucha, on the outskirts of the capital, Kyiv, after the withdrawal of Russian forces from it.

Pictures of dozens of corpses and destruction in the streets of Bucha were also spread on social media, while Ukrainian media reports indicated that 57 bodies had been found in a mass grave in the city.

Russia denies allegations that it killed civilians in Bucha, and says the photos of the dead were "on orders" from the United States as part of a conspiracy to blame Moscow.

The Ukrainian mayor of Makariv, Vadim Tokar, accused Russian forces of killing 132 civilians in his district in the Kyiv region.

Tokar said in a statement to the Verkhovna Rada TV that local officials collected the bodies, whose owners he said were shot dead by Russian forces.

Tokar explained that almost all the infrastructure in Makarif was destroyed, a hospital was destroyed, and apartment complexes and other buildings were bombed.

The local official added that his town had been without electricity, water or gas for more than a month, adding, "We don't even have basic commodities at home."

Tokar said that the city was subjected to a "medical catastrophe" after all the doctors were evacuated from it, noting that before the Russian military operation the town was inhabited by 15,000 people, while now less than 1,000 people live in it.

British military intelligence said on Saturday that yesterday's missile attack on a railway station in Kramatorsk in eastern Ukraine indicates that Russia continues to target non-combatant Ukrainians.

The Ukrainian governor of Donetsk said that the death toll from the Kramatorsk station attack had exceeded 50, including 5 children, while more than 100 were wounded. Ukraine accused Russia of carrying it out, while Moscow denied responsibility for the attack.

The Defense Ministry stated that "Russian operations continue to focus on the Donbass, Mariupol and Mykolaiv region, supported by the continuous firing of cruise missiles at Ukraine by the Russian Navy."

She added that Russia's efforts to establish a land corridor between the Crimea and the Donbass region are still hitting the rock of the Ukrainian resistance.

Today, Saturday, the governor of Ukraine's Luhansk region, Serhiy Gaidai, said there was a need for more evacuations from the region, with the increase in shelling in the past few days and the arrival of more Russian troops.

He added that about 30% of people are still staying in condominiums across the area and have been asked to leave.

"It (Russia) is mobilizing forces to launch an offensive and we are seeing an increase in the number of bombings," he told the public broadcaster.

According to an interview with the Ukrainian intelligence, the Russian army is regrouping its forces in the east of the country and is planning to advance towards Kharkiv.

The head of Ukrainian Defense Intelligence Kirillo Budanov told CNN that the Russian army plans to advance towards the city of Kharkiv, after obtaining additional forces in Belgorod, in order to compensate for their losses.

Udanov called on Ukraine's allies to provide large and rapid military support to help it confront the Russian attack, adding that there was a need to use heavy artillery, anti-aircraft missile systems and combat aircraft against Russian forces.

For its part, British military intelligence reported that Russian air activity is likely to increase in southern and eastern Ukraine, and stressed that Russia continues to bomb non-military places such as the Kramatorsk train station.

British Army Intelligence added that Russian operations continue to focus on Donbass, Mariupol and Mykolaiv, backed by cruise missiles.

She also stressed that the Ukrainian forces continue to thwart Moscow's ambitions to establish a land corridor between Crimea and Donbass.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Lugansk reported an increase in the bombing of the city, and the presence of crowds near Sumy, east of the capital.

On the other hand, the head of the regional administration in Sumy said that Ukrainian forces partially control the city's borders, while the city's governor confirmed the withdrawal of Russian forces from the entire northeastern province.

For its part, the Russian Defense confirmed the destruction of an ammunition depot for Ukrainian forces near Novomoskovsk in Dnipro with high-precision missiles.

It also announced the destruction of the MiG-29 fighter and Mi-8 helicopter of the Ukrainian forces at the Mirgorod military airport.

And it announced that its fighters had managed to destroy the Ukrainian radar station and the Buk-M1 anti-aircraft system.
