Last summer, the municipality of Jönköping shared a citizen dialogue to gather opinions on how Vätterstranden in Jönköping can be developed.

The number of answers was many, about 4000.

Some of the opinions were expected, such as requests for measures to reduce litter and for more cafés and restaurants.

Another expected improvement proposal was access to toilets.

For the bathing area at Liljeholmen, 55 percent thought that they lacked a toilet.

- We are very aware that this is a problem, says Tor Olsson who is the project owner for the citizen dialogue at Jönköping municipality and continues:

- I do not have a budget where I can put temporary toilets here.

It's not as easy as you think.

The cycle path by the beach is shortened

It was 5 percent who thought it was important to improve the bicycle friendliness at the beach.

To reduce the risk of collisions on the eastern part of the beach and make it easier for cyclists, the municipality is now leading the cycle path.

You can see what it will look like in the clip above.

Why is a new cycle path a priority?

- We have seen it for a long time and known it as a problem ourselves, says Tor Olsson.
