On April 6, local time, a large-scale power outage occurred in Puerto Rico, an overseas territory of the United States, and about one-third of the 400,000 users were out of power.

Local energy companies said it may take until the 8th local time to restore power in some areas.

The reason for the outage may be related to a local power plant equipment malfunctioning and a fire.
