Today, Saturday, the Israeli occupation army announced the start of a military operation in the vicinity of the city of Jenin and inside its camp and the village of Burqin, as it deployed 3 new battalions in the friction areas in the West Bank.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that a martyr was shot by the occupation, in addition to the injury of a number of Palestinians with live ammunition, during the storming of Jenin camp. They were transferred to Jenin Governmental Hospital and Ibn Sina Hospital.

According to Al-Jazeera Net correspondent, the ministry said in a statement that the martyr Ahmed Al-Saadi (Abu Islam), one of the fighters of Saraya Al-Quds, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, was martyred as a result of being hit by several bullets in the head and chest, while 5 others were wounded by live bullets in different parts of their bodies. Their condition is stable.

Armed confrontations erupted between Palestinian resistance fighters and the Israeli occupation forces inside and around Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank on Saturday morning, as large military forces headed to the vicinity of the family home of the martyr Raad Hazem, the perpetrator of Operation Dizengoff in Tel Aviv, and demanded his father, retired Colonel Fathi Hazem and the rest of the members His family turned themselves in.

The father of the martyr had refused 3 summonses to appear for investigation by the occupation authorities. He is a retired colonel in the Palestinian National Security and a former prisoner. He was one of the prominent activists of the Fatah movement in the first intifada that broke out in 1987 in the Palestinian territories.

The Israeli occupation army decided to reinforce its forces deployed in the West Bank with 3 new battalions, starting today, Saturday.

According to a statement by the official spokesman of the Israeli army, the decision in this regard was taken in a military assessment session of the situation, and that these reinforcements will be deployed along the line of contact, in reference to the areas of friction and the outlets of the separation wall and the security fence.

"The army will continue with all its might to protect the line of contact and protect the security of Israel and its citizens," the statement added.
