The Supreme Court, the country's highest court, on Thursday overturned the dissolution of the National Assembly and ordered that the vote of

no confidence in the prime minister

be held.

She considers “

unconstitutional and without legal effect

” the decision of the vice-president of the National Assembly, a faithful of Mr. Khan.

Last Sunday, Imran Khan, a former cricketer and current head of government, thought he had accomplished a political feat.

Thanks to the Vice-President of the Assembly,

who refused to put the motion to a vote

, he avoided impeachment and was able to ask the President to dissolve the National Assembly.

But the Supreme Court put an end to the political maneuver and the motion of censure will therefore be voted on Saturday.

Imran Khan's speech this Friday

After the Supreme Court's announcement, the Prime Minister summoned the members of his government and the main leaders of his party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, on Friday to discuss the strategy to be adopted.

He is due to speak on Friday.

 “This decision saved

Pakistan

and its Constitution.

It has increased the honor and dignity of the Court

”, reacted the leader of the opposition to the Assembly, Shehbaz Sharif, leader of the Muslim League of Pakistan (PML-N).

He is now the favorite to become Prime Minister if

the motion

of no confidence is approved.
