According to Agence France-Presse, Lexia Zhan said in a court filing that Trump failed to comply with a court order to submit subpoenaed documents by March 31.
Zhan Lexia believes that Trump should be charged with civil contempt of court for violating the order.
"The judge's order is very clear: Trump must comply with our subpoena and hand over the relevant documents to my office," said Lexia Zhan. "Trump did not comply with the court order, but tried to evade. We are seeking the court's immediate Intervene because no one is above the law."
Lexia Zhan also demanded that Trump be fined $10,000 a day until he handed over documents as required.
According to Reuters, Trump has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing and called the investigation a "witch hunt."
"We are prepared to stand firmly against the frivolous and baseless motions brought by the attorney general's office," said Trump's attorney, Alina Habba.
Prosecutors in New York have been investigating whether the Trump Organization illegally inflated the value of its assets.
An accounting firm that had long worked with the Trump Organization abruptly cut off business ties, according to a court filing made public on February 14.
The report also said that Zhan Lexia is considering whether to file a civil lawsuit against the Trump Organization for allegedly inflating financial statements.
